The Henley Passport Index is the original and authoritative ranking of all the world's passports by the number of destinations to which their holders can travel without a visa. The index is based on exclusive data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) - the largest and most accurate database of travel information - which has been used by Henley & Partners' research team.
According to the published data, the Portuguese passport allows access to 187 destinations worldwide without the need to obtain a visa. This makes it one of the most coveted passports in the world.
For its part, the Spanish passport is on the podium of the most valuable, coming in third place on the list and allowing visa-free access to 190 world destinations.
