José Luis González Armengol has recently joined the Firm to assume the direction and planning of the procedural strategy of contentious matters.
He is in charge of the design of the procedural defence performances, the coordination of professionals involved in the lawsuits, and the counselling at the start of proceedings.
Jose Luis has a Degree in Law from Complutense University of Madrid and has been Judge and judicial secretary since 1989 (currently on leave). José Luis, during his career, has been spokesman of the Basque Country at the Association of Judges and Magistrates Francisco de Vitoria (1997-1999), member of the National Committee of the referred Association (1998-1999), national spokesman of the before said Association (1999-2001) where he was re-elected in 2011, a position he holds today, Dean of Judges of Madrid in 2002, re-elected in 2006 and 2010 (position held at present), member of the European Judicial Network, Civil and Commercial specialty, member of the Security Board of the City of Madrid, member of the Provincial Committee of the Judicial Police of Madrid, member of the Board of Governors of the High Court Justice of Madrid (2002-2014), Jury at the Competition for different buildings that make up the project of Campus of Justice in Madrid, Secretary of the Board of Trustees “Padre Garralda.“
He has been a signatory of the Convention of Labour Claims of the Community of Madrid; participant in the meeting of experts on the study of the delivery of newborns for adoption at the Community of Madrid; Jury member of the Third Edition of the International Awards for Social Responsibility of the Foundation Puentes del Mundo; participant of the "GRECO“ Group, Council of Europe, for the assessment of corruption in Spain of the Ministry of Justice; member of the Association for the bicentennial of the birth of General Primm; member of the Law Commission, Special Section for the regulation of Voluntary Jurisdiction and Civil Procedural Law; member of the Observatory of Children of the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Community of Madrid and President of the Board of Economic-Administrative claim of the City Council of Alcorcon.
Publications: He has written articles for La Ley, Iuris and Trámite Parlamentario and newspapers such as La Razón, ABC and El Pais, Small Monograph Papers on Civil Law published by the University of Deusto. He is co-author of "The new insolvency regulation" Editorial Colex and he is also member of the Editorial Board of the magazine “El Economista“ and of the Management Council of the magazine “Ejecutivos“.
He has participated in several TV programs directly related to the legal updates for the following channels: Via Digital, CNN +, Telemadrid, Telecinco, Antena 3, TV1, Canal 24h, Cuatro, Intereconomía TV, Libertad Digital, etc.
